New PFAS Adsorption Tower Adopted by a Commercial Wastewater Treatment Facility
2026/01/13
Nippon Denko Co., Ltd. (the “Company” or “we”) has developed an adsorption tower specifically designed to remove PFAS*1 (Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances). The tower has been adopted by a commercial wastewater treatment facility and has been in operation since December 2025.
PFAS are substances of concern due to their high persistence and bioaccumulation, raising health concerns. Regulations are being considered and tightened worldwide. It is anticipated that the need for wastewater treatment measures at various facilities and in industrial settings will increase in Japan as well.
Amid these PFAS regulatory moves and growing social demand for countermeasures, the Company has advanced the development of an adsorption tower specialized for PFAS removal, leveraging water treatment technologies cultivated over more than 50 years in the Aqua Solutions business.
Our PFAS adsorption tower is designed with space efficiency and portability in mind, facilitating easy connection to customers’ equipment and maintenance.
Moving forward, we will incorporate customer feedback and requests as we expand our product lineup, contributing to the resolution of social issues related to the environment.
*1 PFAS: A group of chemicals primarily composed of carbon and fluorine, collectively referred to as per‑ and polyfluoroalkyl substances.
